Charlotte and Me

The story revolves around a little boy who goes to kinder, where a little girl from Paris, Charlotte, also attends. We follow the development of their friendship, through the little boy's eyes, as it grows into a young innocent love.

In the end, Charlotte has to return to Paris, and the little boy must deal with the loss of his friend. He uses the memories of their good times together- and plans for a reunion in the future- to help him cope.

A good book for helping children to deal with their own similar situations, or those that will no doubt occur in their future.

Charlotte and Me is written by Sally Gould who lives in Melbourne Australia, with her husband and two sons. This is Sally's first picture book.

The book is illustrated by Elise Hurst who is an author and illustrator of children's books. She uses appealing charcoal and watercolour pictures to illustrate the story.
