Stockade Botanical Park

Stockade Botanical Park is a little slice of nature in a suburban location. The site was a former quarry and covers an area of over 5 hectares, now developed as a special sensory garden.

One of its most unique features is a 12 metre high man made waterfall, which provides cascading backgound sound to your picnicking. Rose gardens add fragrance, and birds abound.

This park is a popular spot for weddings. There are several areas, each surrounded by a variety of trees, with wide expanses of lawn. These hold from 40 to 100 people, depending on which area is chosen.
A gazebo with seating and adjacent paved area, and multiple electric barbecue units offer a selection of ideal picnic spots.

Paved paths throughout the park make for a pleasant stroll, and allow ease of access for wheelchairs to much of the park.

There are public toilets, including disabled facilities, located next to the car park.

There is no playground, and although there are open areas they are not ideally suited to enthusiastic ball games.

Gates open at dawn, locked at dusk.
