Storage can be for as long as you like- even years- but naturally you pay for the storage time used.
Perhaps a more conventional lock up storage unit might be more your style. Some of these venues have accessability to your unit 24/7 and are fully monitored and alarmed, with camera surveillance. Your contents can also be insured for an extra charge. Some offer free use of forklifts, and pallet trucks and trolleys, and free loan trailers for your move in- and even customer lounges with free tea and coffee facilities.
These storage units come in various sizes, priced accordingly, and prices can vary quite considerably, so make sure you compare a few venues before making a decision. Cheaper storage rates may be offered for long term storage, but they are also readily available for short term storage. Availability is another thing to check- don't just assume a unit of the size you want, will be available.
Another option offered is storage in large shipping containers, instead of traditional shed/wharehouse type units. These also vary in size and cost.
